1. HANOI - TAY TRANG BORDER GATE - MUANG XAI - VANG VIENG

The bus schedule departs from Hanoi at 18:00 - 18:30 on day 1 via Dien Bien Phu - Tay Trang Border Gate - Muang Xai (Oudomxay). Arrive at Muang Xai at 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Change to take the train from Muang Xai at 4:30 p.m. on Day 2 to Vang Vieng at 7:00 p.m.
Bus schedule: Hanoi – Tay Trang border gate (Dien Bien Phu) – Muang Xai (Oudomxay) – Vang Vieng
The schedule is divided into 2 distances
Stage 1: Sleeper bus from Hanoi – Tay Trang border gate (Dien Bien Phu) – Muang Xai
Stage 2: Train departs from Muang Xai to Vang Vieng
Bus departure time from Hanoi: 6:00pm - 6:30 day 1
Time to arrive at Muang Xai (Oudomxay): 3:00 p.m. on day 2
Train departure time from Muang Xai (Oudomxay): 4:30 p.m day 2
Train time to Vang Vieng: 07:00 p.m day 2
Ticket price (including: Sleeper bus ticket and train ticket) 1,500,000 VND = 65 USD.
Pick up point: Pick up guests at all hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter area at 3:00 p.m - 3.30pm.

Note: When arriving at Muang Xai, the bus company will deliver train tickets to passengers and take them to the train station

4.1. Which countries enjoy visa-free benefits with Laos?
As stated above, all members of ASEAN are free to enter Laos without a visa. These countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. There are also non-ASEAN member countries with visa-exempt status. These are Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Cuba, DPR Korea, Hungary, India, Japan, Mongolia, Peru, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, South Korea, and Timor Leste.
Some countries who were members of the former USSR also enjoy visa-free status. These include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Citizens of the countries stated above do not need a visa to enter Laos, but all others will need to apply for one before going on a trip to this Southeast Asian country
If you are not a country that is exempt from Visa Laos. You must apply for Laos visa before departing for trip. (It only takes you a few hours to apply for a Laos Visa). Lao Embassy is closed on Saturday and Sunday

5. Evisa to enter Vietnam
5.1 Vietnam Visa Exemption countries & Duration
As of August 2023, regular passport holders of 25 countries DO NOT need a visa for Vietnam. Here is the full list of Vietnam visa free countries and duration
5.2 How to apply for Vietnam evisa online
Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel documents granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.
An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry.
Outside Vietnam foreigners who want to enter Vietnam can personally apply for E-visa or through the requesting agencies and organizations.
E-visa fee is paid via electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department. The fee will not be refunded if the application is refused.

- Outside Vietnam foreigners;
- Holding valid passport;
